Black Fender peghead decal with 2 patent numbers (2,741,146 & 3,143,028).
Single layer, white vinyl pickguard with 8 attachment screws. Each nickel plated saddle is stamped "Fender Pat Pend" (note reissue models are stamped "Fender Fender"). Vinyl plastic knobs and pickup covers replace "bakelite".Also a thin aluminum shield the size of the pickguard is installed underneath the pickguard.Peghead decal logo now has 2 patent numbers (2,573,254 & 2,741,146) Peghead decal logo now has 3 patent numbers (2,960,900 added) Veneer Rosewood fingerboard.Guitars with serial numbers 100000 to 110000 were made in late 1965, 110000 to 200000 in 1966, 180000 to 210000 in 1967, 210000 to 250000 in 1968, 250000 to 280000 in 1969, 280000 to 300000 in 1970, 300000 to 330000 in 1971, 330000 to 370000 in 1972, 370000 to 520000 in 1973, 500000 to 580000 in 1974, 580000 to 690000 in 1900 to 750000 in 1976. These Telecasters were made from the mid 1970s to about 2005.
An "S" prefix dates the guitar to the 1970s, an "E" prefix means the Telecaster was made in the 1980s and the "N" prefix indicates the 1990s.The Stratocaster was first introduced in spring 1954, it may well be the most popular and copied guitar design ever.
